Betty Brainerd - President
Betty Brainerd is a lifelong music lover and singer. She has sung in special musical groups in high school and college, has been a member of Salt and Pepper Gospel Singers for over 30 years, and has been a church choir member for most of her life, most recently at Stony Creek Congregational Church. She received her doctorate in naturopathic medicine from National College of Naturopathic Medicine in Portland, Oregon, and was owner of Shoreline Natural Health Care, LLC in Guilford, where she practiced as a CT licensed naturopathic physician for many years before her retirement. Participating in Stony Creek Singers has been a great joy for her.
Judy Robertson-
Vice President
Born and raised in Meriden, Connecticut, I attended Elmira College and later studied Sculpture at Lyme Academy of Fine Arts. Today, I am a visual artist painting in Oils. Over the past 30 Years, I have lived in Stony Creek, attend Stony Creek Congregational Church, where the Stony Creek Singers perform. I’ve been volunteer at the Willoughby Wallace Library and In 2010 I co-founded the Stony Creek Museum and served as its president for ten years.
Frank Vasi -
Secretary
Frank Vasi acts as both the Secretary and Artistic Director for the Stony Creek Singers. He brings to this position years of experience in the entertainment industry as well as being a small business owner. Mr. Vasi has lived in Branford Connecticut for over five decades and began writing choral works for the Stony Creek Singers in 2005. He graduated from Mannes College of Music in New York City where he received a BM in Performance, studying saxophone and clarinet with Joseph Allard and Frank Socolow and composition with Fred Werle and David Loeb. As a New York freelance musician and teacher, Frank also performed with his own Jazz ensemble The Frank Vasi Quartet, and as a side man with such distinguished Jazz greats as Benny Goodman, Doc Cheatham , Joe Jones and Victor Gaskin.
Peter Robinson -
Treasurer
A graduate from the School of Engineering at UNH, Mr. Robinson has extensive experience in IT and finance. He is a small business owner of a recording company, Office Manager for the Borough of Pine Orchard and serves on multiple non-profit boards. He has lived in Connecticut for most of his life and currently lives in Pine Orchard, Branford CT. Over his working career, he was employed as a Technical Marketing Manager at DSP Software Engineering, Advanced Micro Devices, Data Direct Networks, Texas Instruments and Raymond Industries. Mr. Robinson retired in 2005.
The Stony Creek Singers qualify as exempt organizations described under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
